"Russians do not release civilians from Azovstal to put pressure on the military": Vereshchuk addresses the world community regarding the humanitarian corridor from Mariupol
Iryna Vereshchuk said that the invaders are opening a corridor from Azovstal only for capture and they do not allow to evacuate about 1,000 civilians
This was announced by the head of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk in Telegram.
"There are our military, as well as about 1000 of our civilians at Azovstal.
There is such thing as a corridors for the military to surrender. The russians have provided one, but we don't need it, as our military don’t want to surrender", she wrote.
According to her, the Russians refuse to open a corridor for civilians, pretending that they do not understand the difference between the corridor for the capture of the military and the humanitarian corridor for the evacuation of civilians. She added that the Russian military is afraid to storm Azovstal, but does not release civilians from Azovstal, thus trying to put pressure on Ukrainian servicemen.
"But they do understand it all. It's just that they are trying to lay extra pressure on our military.
Very few of the russian official speakers are not ashamed to tell lies that the humanitarian corridor has been provided, but for some reason our civilians don’t want to use it", Vereschuk said.
Vereshchuk appeals to world leaders to make every effort to open Azovstal humanitarian corridor for women, children and the elderly.
