Russian drones go on "safari" in Chasiv Yar, says local official
Serhiy Chaus, the head of the Chasiv Yar military administration, states that the city is enduring constant Russian shelling and drone attacks
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The situation in Chasiv Yar remains extremely tense. Constant fighting and attacks make the town extremely dangerous. Ukrainian troops are holding their positions and holding back the Russian advance, but the situation is complicated by the active use of Russian drones," said Chaus.
According to the head of the Chasiv Yar city military administration, the remaining residents are simply trying to survive. These are mostly elderly people, many of whom live on the ground floors of high-rise buildings or in basements, as the shelling continues relentlessly.
"One of the most pressing issues is Russian drones. Yesterday, another elderly man was killed in a drone strike. Russian drones are essentially conducting a 'safari.' It doesn't matter to them if a person is simply walking down the street or running from a basement to their house. Despite the dire situation, however, the number of evacuation requests is gradually decreasing," emphasized Chaus.
- The spokesperson for the Khortytsia military unit, Viktor Trehubov, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces control practically the entire territory of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region.
