Russia attacks Ukraine's Kherson community about 6,500 times in 2024
During 2024, the invading Russian army attacked the Kherson community about 6,500 times, killing 116 civilians
Denys Putintsev, Director of the Department of External Communication and Media Relations of the City Council, stated this on Suspilne.Studio.
According to him, last year, Russian forces launched about 6,500 attacks at the Kherson city territorial community, using guided bombs, artillery, mortars and drones.
"This is only Kherson city territorial community. We have about 1,200 wounded, including 36 children. And we have 116 civilians killed over the past year. Therefore, we cannot say that shelling has intensified now. It's constant," Putintsev said.
He also noted that last year, Russian troops attacked about 500 vehicles in the Kherson community. These included civilian and public transport, as well as ambulances and utility vehicles.
"Public transport is constantly under threat, and it's not just public transport—any civilian transport is suffering from enemy shelling and, in particular, drone attacks. We can't speak of activation or neutralization because any movement of a vehicle is immediately detected by enemy drones," said Putintsev.
