The propaganda state agency TASS reported the information.
The report does not specify the name of the refinery in question, but specifies that it has been hit by drones four times.
Yandex was ordered by the court to remove or retouch the images of workshops, compressor stations, tank farms and other elements of the refinery on its Yandex Maps service.
The prosecutor's office that filed the lawsuit explained its demands by saying that “information about objects of strategic importance” is freely available.
TASS notes that this is the first court decision that “ordered a Russian multinational information technology company to remove photos and maps of a strategically important facility for the defense industry from the public domain.”
- Russian authorities reported a drone attack in the Smolensk region on the night of December 31, which caused a fire at an oil depot. They also claimed to have downed 68 UAVs.
