Vice Admiral Oleksii Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, reported this on January 3.
"In 2024, the Ukrainian Navy successfully ensured the safe passage of civilian ships through the sea corridor. Of the 9,061 vessels, 4,651 arrived in Ukraine, while 4,410 departed from Ukraine," Neizhpapa said.
He emphasized that Ukraine's exports, including agricultural products, were crucial for both the national economy and global food security, as nearly 80% of cargo is transported by sea.
The Navy commander also noted that Ukrainian forces destroyed many drifting sea mines.
- In 2024, Ukraine's agricultural exports returned to pre-war levels, reaching $24.5 billion, accounting for 59% of the country's total exports.
