Chinese parts increasingly found in Shahed drones — aviation expert
Aviation expert Anatolii Khrapchynskyi says that Chinese parts are showing up more and more in Shaheds, highlighting Russia’s struggles to produce the essential components needed for drones
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Recently, Chinese components have increasingly appeared in Shaheds. This indicates that Russia is unable to produce satellite navigation antennas fast enough, just like Iran," noted Khrapchynskyi.
According to the aviation expert, the electronics in Shahed drones are undergoing significant changes. Specifically, drone engines have been replaced with Chinese ones. This replacement points to serious issues in Russia, which cannot quickly adapt its industrial capabilities to the demands of mass drone production. It also highlights difficulties in implementing electronic warfare technologies, which are a critical aspect of modern warfare.
"This is specifically a problem of Russia's lack of industrial capacity to produce the required number of drones," added Khrapchynskyi.
- On the night of January 2 to January 3, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with drones. Air defense was activated in the Kyiv region and in the capital. The wreckage of the downed drones in the Kyiv region resulted in death and injuries.
