Russian tactics for attacks on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine

In order to find out specific details of Russian attacks on the territory of Ukraine, I spoke with retired lieutenant general Ihor Romanenko.

He explained that Russian tactics for attacks on the territory of Ukraine are constantly changing. In particular, according to Romanenko, Russian troops are studying the current situation and conducting attacks in accordance with their findings. Russians also actively use their A-50U long-range radar detection and guidance aircraft. Romanenko emphasized that during massive missile attacks or attacks by kamikaze drones, A-50U aircraft is always in the air to control these strikes.

Ukrainian Armed Forces artillery destroyed several hundred soldiers in Makiivka. 

On New Year's Eve, thanks to a precise strike by long-range means, more than 400 mobilized were killed. The Russian military was stationed in the building of local vocational school number 19. There are photos on the network that clearly show the consequences of this strike. This result was facilitated by reliable intelligence, excellent accuracy of HIMARS and storage of ammunition in the vocational school building. All military equipment near the building was also destroyed. Russian propagandists also recognized colossal losses. However, the Russian Ministry of Defense falsely admitted the death of only 63 mobilized soldiers but stated that 2 out of 6 Himars shells were shot down. We are waiting for the continuation of such pleasant and wonderful Christmas stories.

Russian troops, not having the opportunity to change the front line, continue tactics of missile terror against the civilian population of Ukraine. At the same time, the capital of Ukraine remains the main destination for strikes. Thus, on the night of January 1-2, Russian troops attacked Kyiv with almost 40 kamikaze drones. All these drones were destroyed by Ukrainian Air Defense Forces. Also, Russian UAVs were destroyed in the eastern and southern directions.

The retired lieutenant general also noted that Russia's capabilities for mass missile strikes are indeed diminishing. However, this applies only to modern types of missiles. Because they are able to produce only 50 to 60 units of cruise missiles per month. Also, according to Romanenko, Russians have problems with components for them. Therefore, they actively smuggle parts. In addition, Russians still have quite powerful capabilities for strikes on the territory of Ukraine with kamikaze drones. Because they deliver them from Iran to Russian Federation by ships through the Caspian Sea.

Ukrainian strikes deep into Russia

Ihor Romanenko emphasized that Ukraine needs to increase its capabilities for strikes deep into Russian territory. Since such actions are quite promising for the victory of Ukraine in this war. According to the lieutenant general, Ukraine has the ability to create kamikaze drones with a long range. He is convinced that the production of such drones is only a matter of time for the Ukrainian military industry.
