“I expressed condolences over the terrible fires in California and the loss of life. I noted the heroism of Americans who are helping to save lives from the fire and stop the spread of wildfires. I thanked them for supporting our country, our independence and for consolidating the international community. Together, we have created a global coalition of defenders of freedom and the principles of international peace and security,” the statement said.
The Presidents of Ukraine and the United States discussed the details of the new US sanctions package against Russian energy, the situation on the battlefield, and the strengthening of air defense.
"Patriots in the hands of Ukrainians have proven their effectiveness; we must continue to strengthen this force. We appreciate President Biden's statement that preserving and protecting Ukraine's independence is critically important for all of Europe and the democratic world. We will undoubtedly persevere and achieve lasting peace for our people and our country," wrote Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
