This is reported by Le Temps with reference to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country Nicolas Bidaud.

Following the June 2024 peace summit in Swiss Bürgenstock, Ukraine, Russia, and the United States have regularly inquired about Switzerland's willingness to support diplomatic efforts for peace, according to him.

The Swiss Foreign Ministry clarified that it would organize a meeting only at the request of both Washington and the Kremlin. A ministry representative also stressed that all parties had been informed of Switzerland's readiness to host peace talks.

The Swiss authorities decided to join the 15th EU sanctions package against Russia and new restrictions against Belarus.
