Ukraine destroys 60 of 94 Russian drones overnight
On the night of Sunday, January 12, Russian forces launched another wave of drone strikes on Ukraine. Air defense units successfully shot down 60 Russian drones
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Between 6:00 PM on January 11 and the morning of January 12, Russian troops launched 94 Shahed UAVs and various decoy drones from the directions of Millerovo, Oryol, Bryansk, and Kursk in Russia.
The attack was countered by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups.
As of the morning of January 12, 60 attack drones were confirmed destroyed in the regions of Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Donetsk.
Several houses in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Poltava regions were damaged by downed drones, but no casualties or injuries were reported.
Additionally, 34 more Russian decoy drones were lost.
