Russian forces hastily take bodies of flood victims to unknown destination in Kherson region
On the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, occupation authorities collect and take away the bodies of Ukrainians who died in a flood caused by the Russia's blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant
Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, head of the Kherson Regional Military District Administration's press office said this, Radio Liberty reports.
“They pack all the bodies they find in black bags and take them away in an unknown direction, saying that they are taking them to Kalanchak. No one can count how many bodies relatives bring to the hospital, they diagnose any cause of death, but not drowning, so that the victims of their terrorist attack are not recorded, so that, as always, they can hide their crimes,” Tolokonnikov said.
Occupying Russian forces are ignoring the requests of local residents to inspect the houses and dismantle the rubble, as there may be dead people under it.
The spokesperson suggests that the number of dead may be very high, but it is impossible to assess it now.
“All we can get is the number of dead from the hospital. So far, it's about 11 in Oleshky, and the same number in Hola Prystan,” he added.
