Russian defense is shaking: Ukrainian troops gradually advance in southern regions — Military expert Serhiy Zgurts
Planned measures of the Ukrainian General Staff to liberate the occupied territories and create prerequisites for more powerful, active actions by units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine are ongoing
The situation on the front
Contrary to what foreign experts and publications are saying about Ukrainian assault actions in the south coming to a halt, the reality is quite different. The recent liberation of Pyatykhatky village confirms this.
Pyatykhatky is situated on the right side of our offensive movement. Today, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, shared a video from the 128th Separate Transcarpathian Assault Brigade, showing their efforts in liberating the village. The video reveals interesting moments, including how our tank units operate, how Russian tanks and infantry fighting vehicles are destroyed using our anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) and drones, and how Russian soldiers are captured. It also depicts intense fighting in this area of the front.
Pyatykhatky holds significance because behind them lies another settlement called Zherebyanka, which opens up the road to Vasylivka. Vasylivka is a crucial settlement that leads to other important directions such as Tokmak and Melitopol. The enemy is currently in a state of panic due to the gradual advancement of Ukrainian troops, as it poses significant risks to their frontline defenses. This example demonstrates that the fighting in the south is taking place across a wide front. The Russian defense is wavering, and the enemy is attempting to transfer reserves and determine the main attack direction. All of this indicates the planned measures undertaken by our General Staff to liberate occupied territories and create conditions for more powerful and extensive actions by Ukrainian units. Currently, separate brigades are operating in different directions.
In the Lyman and Kupyansk directions, the enemy is attempting offensive actions, but the Russians have been trying to do so for a long time. The Armed Forces are actively and effectively countering these hostile actions. The enemy is trying to create a risky situation with their unit's actions, but this is not surprising. All the enemy's efforts in this direction will be blocked, without affecting our actions in key directions, particularly in the south and the direction of Bakhmut, where our offensive operations are taking place.
