Russia convicts innocent Ukrainians and pushes propaganda in occupied territories
Terror against the population continues in the occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia region, and with each passing day, the reports grow more disturbing
Journalist and Zaporizhzhia District Council deputy Alisa Sysoyeva shared this update on Espreso.
"This week, the Russians convicted two more people for a crime they didn’t commit. Sadly, this is a common tactic among the occupiers, who accuse our people (Ukrainians - ed.) of plotting terror attacks. We know these individuals are simply pawns for propaganda, but they’re becoming victims in the process. The news from the occupied territories is shocking and defies logic," Sysoyeva said.
Russia has also announced a crackdown on illegal trade, which Sysoyeva says will have serious implications for Ukrainians.
"In reality, it’s just another excuse to force people to re-register all their property and businesses under Russian occupation laws. They’ve declared in their media that, along with investigating so-called illegal businesses, they’ll also check for Russian passports," she added.
Recently, Russian propagandists stocked occupied libraries and schools with new books, including collections of Putin’s speeches, Putin’s judo manual, and a book by Vladimir Solovyov, Russian propagandist and TV presenter.
"They spare no expense on propaganda. Meanwhile, there are utility issues as winter sets in. Berdyansk is mostly without water, and Enerhodar is dealing with broken pipelines – but the funds go to propaganda," she remarked.
- Earlier, the occupation administration in Zaporizhzhia launched a massive campaign to seize real estate from Ukrainian citizens.
