"How to hunt Ukrainian UAVs on live bait": Ukraine releases notes from North Korean soldier killed in Kursk
Ukraine's Special Operations Forces deciphered writings of a killed North Korean soldier in Russia's Kursk region, which detailed how to hunt a Ukrainian drone using bait
This is stated on the Special Operations Forces’ Facebook page.
In his notebook, Private Gyeong Hong Jong, while still alive, outlined tactics for shooting down UAVs and hiding from Ukrainian artillery.
"It is currently unknown whether this is authentic North Korean tactics or if the Russians taught them this. However, this tactic involves using a live bait," the post states.
Ukrainian forces managed to decode the notes of the North Korean: "How to eliminate a drone. When a drone is detected, a team of three (3 people) must be formed. The person acting as bait should maintain a distance of 7 meters, while those shooting should be 10-12 meters away. If the person acting as bait stands still, the drone will also stop moving. At this moment, the shooter eliminates the drone."
In addition, the notes detailed how to avoid artillery fire zones: "If caught in an artillery strike zone, designate the next assembly point (for the group), disperse into small groups, and exit the strike zone. Another method: since artillery doesn't target the same spot twice, one can hide in the location of the previous strike and then move out of the fire zone."
The Special Operations Forces command noted that Ukrainian fighters continue to eliminate North Korean forces in the Kursk region.
