Japan allocates $1.2 billion for Ukraine's recovery projects
In November and December, Ukraine received approximately $1.2 billion from Japan, which was directed toward social, medical, educational projects, reconstruction, and business support

This was announced by Ukraine’s Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal.
The funds provided by Japan include:
- $602 million under the INSPIRE project for social protection of low-income and vulnerable populations.
- $400 million through the SURGE program to finance Ukraine's recovery and resilience.
- $250 million under the RISE project for the development of the private sector.
- $220 million within the THRIVE project to improve healthcare spending efficiency.
- $200 million through the LEARN project to build safe and comfortable educational environments.
Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to Japan and the World Bank for their continuous involvement in strengthening and rebuilding Ukraine.
- Additionally, on December 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with Japan's Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. Zelenskyy announced that Tokyo would transfer an additional $3 billion to Kyiv from frozen Russian assets.
