Russia builds road near Ukraine’s Mariupol to hide military equipment movement - local official
Mariupol City Council member Dmytro Zabavin stated that Russians are building a road near Mariupol to conceal the movement of military equipment from local residents
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The Russian occupiers are using Mariupol as a military-logistics hub, with a constant flow of military equipment and personnel. However, Russians are not satisfied that Mariupol residents can see the movement of this military equipment, which often travels along Naberezhna Street, entering from the eastern side of the city, passing through the city center, and heading west," said Mariupol City Council member Dmytro Zabavin.
According to him, Russia has constructed 37 kilometers of road in the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region, intended to connect the Russian border with Crimea.
"And accordingly, Russian forces are not satisfied with this because all the residents of Mariupol can see the movement of this equipment. That is why they have intensified the construction of bypass roads outside the city limits and want everything to happen beyond the city to hide the movement of military equipment from view. This is why they are investing in such logistical projects to move military equipment in secret. They allocate funds for this and are building roads, having already completed 37 kilometers from the Russian border and along the occupied part of the Donetsk region. This is the route that is supposed to connect to the temporarily occupied Crimea," said Dmytro Zabavin.
- On December 22, it was reported that the movement of Russian military equipment and new markings on it were detected in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk region.
