Russia doesn't have enough forces for full-scale offensive on Kyiv - Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes the Russian army doesn't have enough forces to launch a full-scale offensive on Kyiv
Zelenskyy said this in an interview with AFP.
"Russia lacks the strength to launch a full-scale offensive on the capital like the one they had at the beginning of the offensive,” the president said.
However, he emphasized that Ukraine and its Western allies should not show weakness and called for the deployment of two Patriot batteries to protect the skies over the Kharkiv region and show Ukraine's resilience.
"They are like a beast... If they feel a weakness somewhere in this direction, they will press on," he said.
At the same time, Zelenskyy added that Ukraine has “about 25 percent of what we need” to defend the country.
"They can fire any weapons from their territory at ours. This is the biggest advantage that Russia has. We can't do anything to their systems, which are located on the territory of Russia, with Western weapons," the President added.
- On May 17, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that for the first time in two years of war, soldiers at the front have enough artillery shells.
