According to Fox News, sources say that Trump plans to select a high-ranking, highly respected figure for the role of “senior special envoy.” This individual will be tasked with heading the talks to bring the conflict to a close.
“The job is not expected to be a salaried role - from 2017 to 2019, Kurt Volker had served as special representative to Ukrainian negotiations on a volunteer basis,” Fox News reports.
- Key positions in the Trump administration are likely to be filled by the “Asia-focused” camp, and that might not be the worst option for Ukraine.
