Roman Kostenko, secretary of the Parliamentary Defense Committee, told Ukrainska Pravda.
"The Committee submitted an official request to the Ministry of Defense to develop a draft law defining the procedures and conditions for discharging certain categories of military personnel during martial law," he said
"Recently, a response arrived stating that, according to the Ministry of Defense’s plan, the draft will be ready within the timeframe set by Parliament—by December 18, 2024," the politician added.
According to Kostenko, it is currently unknown what discharge mechanisms the Ministry of Defense will propose.
- In December 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers prepared draft law No. 10378, which outlined conditions for demobilization. The government proposed granting the right to discharge those who had served continuously for 36 months. However, the draft was later withdrawn.
