Russian forces test Ukraine’s air defense during combined attacks – Defense Express
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi discussed the potential objectives behind Russia's recent massive strikes on Ukraine
He spoke about it on Espreso TV.
"The Russian forces may have been testing the real capabilities of our air defense systems and how we respond to attacks," Kyrychevskyi said.
"This could help them adjust their plans for future strikes, particularly against energy infrastructure. It's important to remember that Russia's strategy is comprehensive. The missile strikes are just one part of it, along with using psychological tactics against us. Although, it’s possible they might direct similar actions against other Western countries."
Kyrychevskyi believes the strikes were likely part of a coordinated campaign with a specific goal. He pointed out that in the past, Russia has attacked military facilities with relatively small numbers of missiles.
"Perhaps they took some of our media reports too seriously - claims that Shahed drones are impossible to shoot down, or that our air defense is ineffective - or maybe they believed their own propaganda about the weakness of our defenses," he added.
- On November 13, Russia launched attack drones and missiles at Ukraine. Explosions were heard in Kyiv. One person was injured in the Kyiv region.
