Explosions in Kyiv

At 7:19 a.m., the Air Force warned Kyiv residents about a missile threat. A minute later, explosions were heard in the city.

"Air alert continues! Air defense is active in the capital. Stay in shelters until the air alert is lifted," the Kyiv City Military Administration reported.

At 7:28 a.m., the military reported a missile targeting Kyiv. At 7:29 a.m., an explosion was heard in the city.

At 7:35 a.m., the Air Force again warned of missile danger for Kyiv.

Additionally, the military administration stated that emergency power outages may be implemented in Kyiv due to Russian shelling.

"This is a preventive measure. Stay calm! Take care of your safety," the message read.

Later, the administration reported that Russia had likely used air-launched cruise missiles, ballistic missiles (KN-23/KN-24/Iskander-M), and Shahed/Gerany/Gerbera/Parody drones.

As a result of the air defense battle, the Defense Forces destroyed several cruise missiles, several ballistic missiles, and up to a dozen Russian drones.

As of 9:00 a.m., there were no reports of destruction or casualties in Kyiv.

Sumy region

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that on November 12, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on critical infrastructure facilities in the Shostka community using Shahed-type drones.

As a result, heating was disrupted in the city of Shostka. Emergency and rescue services are working on the scene. The consequences of the attack are being clarified, and measures are being taken for a prompt restoration of heat supply.

Kyiv region

At 3:26 p.m., a group of attack drones was detected in Poltava region. The Shaheds were heading toward the Kyiv region. By 5:30 p.m., an attack UAV approached Kyiv from the direction of Brovary.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported at 5:49 p.m. that air defense systems were active.

In the morning, the State Emergency Service reported that one person had been injured as a result of the attack.

"A building was destroyed, and a fire broke out in Brovary district, Kyiv region. One person was injured and received assistance from emergency medical teams," the report said.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration stated that as a result of debris from downed Russian targets, one person was injured in a local settlement. A 48-year-old man sustained head abrasions, and his condition is stable.

Zelenskyy's reaction

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote that Ukrainian Air Defense Forces had shot down Russian missiles, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles attacking Kyiv, and drones. In total, about 90 attack drones attacked Ukraine.

“It is important that our forces have the means to defend the country from Russian terror. I am grateful to each of the partners who help. Delivering anti-missiles for our air defense system on time, fulfilling agreements on defense systems, on the production and supply of electronic warfare means, without exaggeration, being a savior of people. Each such manifestation of the effectiveness of our air defense means saved lives and protected infrastructure,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
