Trump's victory sparks South Korea to rethink arms supply to Ukraine
Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election has prompted South Korea to reconsider sending weapons to Ukraine
Bloomberg reported the information, citing its own sources.
According to an official who wished to remain anonymous, President Yoon Suk-yeol's government must consider Trump's position to decide whether to change its longstanding policy of refusing to provide lethal aid to Kyiv.
According to another government official, Seoul is also studying how Trump's approach to the war will affect support for Ukraine from several countries.
The office of the President of South Korea stated that the government will assess potential scenarios for military cooperation between the countries following Pyongyang's troop deployment and will take countermeasures.
“We will closely coordinate with our ally and partners in that process,” said in a statement in response to Bloomberg's question about South Korea's latest thinking on sending weapons to Ukraine.
