Russian forces slow down infantry attacks in Zaporizhzhia sector - Freedom Legion
Freedom Legion spokesman Kostiantyn Denysov says that Russian forces have slowed down infantry attacks in the Zaporizhzhia sector
He spoke about this on Espreso TV.
“They have slowed down their infantry attacks a bit. This is due to the fact that, firstly, they also need to “lick” their wounds, and secondly, to bring in more troops. Thirdly, as we have repeatedly discussed, they are constantly firing their artillery, burning out everything they see in front of them, and their infantry simply has no place to gain a foothold. The competent and active defense of the Ukrainian security forces also contributes to their failures. Of course, there are losses, and let's be objective, but the defense is multi-layered. Because of this, the enemy, having a total advantage in resources, cannot advance,” Denysov said.
He also said that the Russians continue to hide behind civilians in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region: they deploy equipment and dig trenches right in the yards.
“Ukrainians live in every settlement located on the temporarily occupied territory. Of course, the Russians bring in all sorts of rabble there, which changes the ethnic picture of Zaporizhzhia region. Russians hide their military equipment in private yards and use people as human shields, dig trenches and build various fortifications, including in private yards. They are simply using people as human shields to protect themselves from Ukrainian long-range artillery or Ukrainian drones,” said the Legion of Freedom spokesman.
- On August 16, Russian propaganda began to promote the narrative that Ukraine was preparing to shell Zaporizhzhia and Kursk NPPs. The Center for Public Affairs said that Russia could be preparing a nuclear provocation.
