First armoured personnel carriers from Bulgaria arrive in Ukraine
The first armoured personnel carriers from Bulgaria have been transported to Ukraine. Their delivery was agreed in July 2023, it was about 100 APCs

The journalists noted that they saw the first armoured personnel carrier being loaded onto a platform. It left the base in Sofia for the railway station.
The Ministry of Defence is organising the delivery of APCs to Ukraine.
"Their shipment starts today, and they will be sent in sets of six," the statement said.
Military assistance from Bulgaria
On July 14, 2023, Bulgaria officially announced the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine for the first time. This is the largest single package of military aid from the country.
On July 21, after a long debate, the Bulgarian parliament supported the supply of armoured personnel carriers to Ukraine from the warehouses of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Bulgaria joined NATO in 2004, but it still has stocks of Soviet-designed weapons.
