President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated during a press conference on February 23 that over the past three years of full-scale war, the United States has provided Ukraine with $100 billion in aid, while EU countries and their partners have contributed an additional $100 billion. In contrast, Ukraine itself has invested $120 billion. He emphasized that the U.S. support still includes contributions from the previous administration under Joe Biden.
Zelenskyy further remarked that the U.S. aid was not a loan, but rather grants, as agreed with former U.S. President Biden and Congress. He also expressed his desire for mutual understanding with Donald Trump, hoping the former president would recognize the security guarantees Ukraine requires.
