Lithuania proposes January 1, 2030 as target date for Ukraine’s EU accession
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda has suggested setting January 1, 2030, as the target date for Ukraine's accession to the European Union

Speaking at the plenary session of the Support Ukraine forum in Kyiv on February 24, Nausėda emphasized the urgency of European leadership in securing Ukraine's future within the EU. He stated, "The security of Europe depends on the security of Ukraine," and urged European leaders to act without delay.
Nausėda further proposed that the first cluster of negotiations could begin in the near future, stating, "Let’s make Ukraine’s path to the EU inevitable."
