Ukraine and the U.S. are finalizing a landmark agreement on mineral resources, with officials aiming for a swift signing to solidify long-term cooperation between the two nations

Vice Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna announced that Ukraine and the United States are in the final stage of negotiations regarding an agreement on Ukrainian mineral resources. The deal, once signed, is expected to secure long-term commitments between the two nations.
Stefanishyna emphasized that both sides aim to conclude talks swiftly to move forward with signing the agreement. The goal is for U.S. and Ukrainian leaders to finalize it in Washington as soon as possible, reinforcing bilateral cooperation for decades to come.
Earlier, Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, described the negotiations as constructive, noting progress in discussions on granting the U.S. a share in Ukraine’s mineral resources. Meanwhile, Steve Witkoff, a special envoy for former U.S. President Donald Trump, suggested that the agreement could be signed as early as this week.
