The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg states in an interview with the Wiener Zeitung.
According to him, Austria is ready to support peace negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. But negotiations are unlikely, because the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, has not given up his intentions.
"Of course, if diplomacy becomes the dominant force, we would be ready to accept negotiators. But we are very far from that. Even after Putin's speech in Vladivostok, you can see that he has no desire to give up. Quite the opposite. Russia's goal seems to be still is to destroy Ukraine," Shallenberg said.
