Ukraine among top 5 globally in digital public services development
According to the Online Services Index, an international study by the E-Government Development Index, Ukraine ranks 5th globally in the development of digital public services
Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov shared this information on September 20.
The ranking evaluates 193 countries and is developed by the UN. South Korea leads the list, followed by Denmark in second place and Estonia in third, with Ukraine coming in fifth, just after Saudi Arabia.
Fedorov noted that in 2018, Ukraine was ranked 102nd in a similar study, meaning the country has improved by 97 positions in just six years.
"We were the first to equate electronic documents with paper ones and the fourth in Europe to launch digital driver's licenses. Registering a sole proprietorship in Ukraine is the fastest in the world, taking only four seconds. Besides ranking 5th in digital services, we also hold the top spot in citizen engagement in government processes online," the minister noted.
He added that nearly 21 million Ukrainians are using Diia, Ukraine's state mobile application for government services.
“Now our experience is valuable to the whole world - people are learning from us, and other countries want to integrate Diia,” Fedorov concluded.
