Ukraine's air defense destroys 36 Russian drones overnight, 23 fail to reach targets
Invading Russian forces had been attacking Ukraine with drones for almost the entire last day. Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy 36 enemy targets, and another 23 were lost in the field
The Ukrainian Air Force reported the information.
From 10:00 a.m. on December 23 to 09:00 a.m. the next day, Russia launched 60 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other types of drones at Ukraine from the directions of Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation.
The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces.
As of the morning of December 24, 36 drones were confirmed to have been shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
In addition, due to active counteraction by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, 23 Russian imitator drones were lost in the area. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, this action caused no negative consequences. Another Russian drone is still in the air.
