"Modern" cruise missiles of the Russian Federation are equipped with the electronics developed in 60th years of the last century - intelligence
Ukrainian intelligence has found out that Russian cruise missiles are equipped with electronics developed in the 60s of the last century, and their navigation system was developed in 1977
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine writes about this.
X-101 missiles were manufactured from 1999 to 2013, and the Russian media reported on them as the pride of the latest high-precision Russian weapons. As a fact, the result of the use of X-101 missiles by the invaders during the hostilities in Ukraine disproved the declared effectiveness. Intelligence emphasizes that the electronic component base turned out to be very far from modern.
"The analysis of the guidance and navigation systems of Kh-55 cruise missiles, as well as their modifications Kh-555 and Kh-101, carried out by Ukrainian experts, showed that "modern" guidance units were developed in 1960-1970 and were produced by the Voronezh plant of radio components, the Minsk plant "Integral" and other enterprises of the Soviet Union", the message added.
In addition, it was established that the PGI-2M navigation system, developed in 1977, is used in the "newest" missiles.
"Most of the X-101 missiles fired at Ukraine did not hit their intended targets", the Main Intelligence Directorate noted.
