“Tomahawk with wings”: Defense Express tells what Ukraine used to hit Olenya airfield
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi said that the strike on the Olenya airfield on July 27 was a record for Ukrainian drones in terms of the distance
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“So far, we know little about the results of our drones' attack on the Olenya airfield. However, what is interesting is that Ukrainian drones have not yet reached a distance of 1,800 km. Even if we count the distance from the state border in a very primitive way, this is a record for the Defense Forces,” Kyrychevskyi said.
The expert is convinced that the results of the attack on the Olenya airfield could be more devastating for the Russians.
“The results of our attacks on military targets in Russia are difficult to immediately identify. However, it so happened that the Russian aggressors eventually reveal the details of our attacks, which are often even more impressive than the previous ones.
In particular, when we attacked Engels and Dyagilevo airfields, there was information that one Tu-95 and one Tu-22M3 were damaged. And six months later, the Russians opened a case about these strikes, where they claimed eight damaged bombers. So, I think we will learn more about the attack on the Olenya airfield later. But the very fact that we have a long-range drone that has a range like a Tomahawk missile is significant. It's like a Tomahawk with wings, and it makes the Russians feel very bad,” he added.
