May 26 attack on Ukraine. Air defense shoots down all cruise missiles over Kyiv. In Dnipro, 3 businesses, gas station damaged, with one casualty

Local authorities reported the information.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, last night Russian troops launched another missile and air strike with Shahed drones on Ukraine. Information on the consequences of the terrorist attack is currently being clarified.

As of 04:00 am, air raid alerts were triggered throughout Ukraine. Starting from 05:15 am, the air force began to cancel air raid alerts in different regions.

Kyiv city and region

As a result of the falling debris in the Obolon district of Kyiv, the roof of one of the shopping and entertainment centers was damaged.

"No fire and no critical damage. Some fragments fell directly on the territory of the mall. Preliminary, there are no casualties. The information is being clarified," said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

A fragment fell on a private house in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The roof and a window were damaged. Preliminary, there is no information about the victims.

At around 04:15 am, residents of Kyiv and the surrounding area heard loud explosions. The military administration reported air defense being in operation.

Later, the city military administration reported that the attack was carried out from Tu-95MS strategic bombers, probably from the Caspian Sea, using Kh-101/555 cruise missiles.

According to preliminary information, all enemy targets in Kyiv's airspace were detected and destroyed.

Cherkasy region

At 05:32 am, the Cherkasy Regional Air Defense Administration reported air defense activity.

"The air raid alert lasted in the region almost all night. Our defenders were reliably protecting us.

At dawn, air defense forces shot down a Shahed drone in the sky over the Cherkasy region. There were no casualties or property destruction,” reported Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.

According to the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukrainian defenders destroyed a total of 10 cruise missiles, 23 Shaheds and 2 reconnaissance UAVs that night.

Dnipro city and region

Russia massively attacked the region with missiles and drones. 

According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, Dnipro was attacked. A fire broke out in a private household, which has been extinguished. Two houses and a car were damaged. Two private enterprises also caught fire. Rescuers have extinguished the fire.

In addition, a gas station was damaged. One of its employees was injured. He received medical assistance and will be treated at home. A transport company also suffered serious damage. 

"We are inspecting the affected territories. The information is being clarified," he emphasized.

Russians also fired at the Marhanets community from a UAV. There were no casualties. 

Previously, only the military from the East military group shot down 5 cruise missiles and 6 Shaheds over the region that night. 

Suspilne media outlet reported the explosions at 03:30 am and 04:10 am. Meanwhile, Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov asked not to film anything.

 And the head of the Dnipro Regional Council, Mykola Lukashuk, warned of a threat to Kryvyi Rih.

Kharkiv region

At night, Russia attacked the cities of Marefa and Izyum, Kharkiv district, with a Shahed UAV, says Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Military District Administration.

As a result, a civilian enterprise was damaged and a fire broke out in Marefa. In Izyum, a building of an educational institution and a garage with agricultural machinery were damaged and fires broke out.

Preliminary, no one was injured as a result of the nighttime Shahed strikes.
