Russia attacks in Bakhmut direction, 22 combat engagements take place in 5 frontline sectors – AFU General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared the information in a morning report on May 26.

Russian forces are attacking in Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions – 22 combat engagements took place over the past day.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces shoot down a Russian Su-25 and destroy a control center, 2 artillery units at firing positions

On May 25, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched 5 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel and military equipment.

Ukrainian rocket launchers and artillery hit a command post, an anti-aircraft missile system, 2 manpower concentrations, 1 ammunition depot, 1 radar station and 2 artillery units at firing positions.

Also on May 25, Ukrainian defenders managed to shoot down a Su-25 aircraft.

Russia attacks Ukraine with 4 missiles and launches 55 air strikes: dam in the Donetsk region damaged

In total, Russia launched 4 missile strikes over the past day. 

There was a S-300 missile strike on a dam near Karlivka, Donetsk region. As a result, there is a great threat of flooding of other nearby settlements. 

In addition, Russian forces launched 55 air strikes. In particular, 36 Iranian Shahed attack UAVs were used - all of these air targets were destroyed. 

There were also 19 MLRS attacks.

The threat of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.

Situation in other Ukrainian frontline regions

On the northern border with Belarus, the situation remained unchanged.

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops fired mortar and artillery shells at 19 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops are trying to improve their tactical situation.

They launched air strikes near 2 settlements in the Kharkiv region. 

During the day, they launched unsuccessful attacks near Masiutivka and shelled 7 settlements in the Kharkiv region and 2 in the Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched unsuccessful attacks near Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region over the last day. 

They also launched air strikes near the same settlements and near another one in the Donetsk region. Eight settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under artillery fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian forces attacked near Bakhmut yesterday. 

Thirteen settlements in the Donetsk region suffered from shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops launched unsuccessful attacks near Krasnohorivka. 

They launched air strikes near Avdiivka and Vodiane, fired artillery near 3 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled numerous attacks near the town of Marinka. Russia also involved aviation to attack the area. 

At the same time, Marinka and another settlement in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops fired at 3 settlements.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops are on the defensive. 

They launched air strikes at 3 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region and one more in the Kherson region.

They shelled 24 settlements in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions.

Earlier, the General Staff reported that Russia deployed about 300 military personnel and 15 boats stolen from the locals on Dzharylhach.
