The death of the young man was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

“On the first day of the new year, Russians killed a Kherson resident,” Prokudin wrote.

According to him, the man sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of an enemy attack on the Dniprovsky district of Kherson.

Later, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Roman Mrochko, informed that the victim was 23 years old.

“The deceased guy was a volunteer and a heroic person who constantly helped us in restoring the community,” added Mrochko.

Later, the Kherson Regional Military Administration clarified that two more people, a man and a woman, were injured as a result of the Russia's attacks.

“A 63-year-old man was taken to the hospital who was injured as a result of enemy shelling of Kherson at 10:00. The injured man was diagnosed with an explosive trauma and a shrapnel wound to the chest. His condition is of moderate severity,” the OVA said.

“Also, a 52-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital who sustained an explosive injury and contusion as a result of yesterday's evening shelling of the city. The Kherson woman is under medical supervision,” they added.

At noon, the Russian troops shelled Kherson again. A 70-year-old man was injured in the attack. He was hospitalized with an explosive injury and a shrapnel wound to his back.

Russian shelling of Kherson region

According to the Regional Military Administration, on January 1, Russians attacked a civilian car with a drone near Zelenivka. As a result of the explosives dropped, a 37-year-old man sustained an explosive injury and shrapnel wound to his shin, and was hospitalized.

At about 3:30 p.m., the Russian forces attacked Beryslav from a UAV. As a result of explosives dropped from the drone, a 59-year-old man received similar injuries to the man in Zelenivka.

“The injured man went to a medical facility on his own, where he was treated. He will undergo further treatment on an outpatient basis,” the regional military administration said.
