Russian forces push to encircle Ukraine’s Pokrovsk - Ukrainian officer
Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Serhii Tsekhotskyi points out that the fighting for Pokrovsk continues, with Russians attempting to encircle the city
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
“The fighting continues nonstop, even on New Year’s Eve. Hostilities are ongoing across all sections of the front, but the hottest spots remain Pokrovsk and the surrounding areas. We are keeping the situation under control and will destroy Russian forces as long as necessary. A significant number of Russian occupiers were also eliminated in the Pokrovsk direction on New Year’s Eve,” Tsekhotskyi emphasized.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces officer, aware of their growing losses, Russians are attempting to encircle the city of Pokrovsk, reach the Pavlohrad-Pokrovsk highway, and force the Ukrainian Armed Forces garrison to abandon its positions.
“Our task is to prevent this. The highway from Pokrovsk toward Pavlohrad remains under our control, although some Russian drones still manage to reach the area. Therefore, we have an urgent need for additional equipment capable of paralyzing, neutralizing, and denying the Russian air dominance,” Tsekhotskyi added.
