Pro-Russian hackers target French cities’ websites as revenge for supporting Ukraine
Pro-Russian hackers have carried out cyberattacks on 23 websites of French cities. They called it “retaliation” for Paris's assistance to Kyiv

The French prosecutor's office claims that hackers attacked 23 websites in total. In particular, on December 31, the websites of the cities of Marseille and Tarbes were inaccessible or partially accessible.
The Marseille City Hall stated that due to the cyberattack, it was necessary to use “protective mechanisms that led to the sites becoming inaccessible.”
The NoName group claimed responsibility for the cyberattack, and called their actions retaliation for France's support of Ukraine. The hackers reported on social media that they had attacked the websites of the cities of Nantes, Bordeaux, Poitiers, Pau, Nimes, Nice, Angers, Le Havre, and Montpellier, as well as the department of Les Landes, French Polynesia and New Caledonia, but there were all still operating Tuesday.
- On December 28, pro-Russian hackers attacked about ten official Italian websites, including those of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and two airports in Milan.
