Mateusz Morawiecki aims to persuade Berlin to transfer Leopard combat tanks to Ukraine
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki wants to negotiate the supply of Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine during his visit to Berlin
He will talk about this with representatives of several political groups, Morawiecki said on the air of RMF FM radio station on January 14.
It is reported that Morawiecki doesn’t know if he can convince German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to transfer Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine. He also noted that he doesn’t expect such a decision to be made in the coming days
"These are processes that require long discussions, but the pressure must be constant. This decision (on Patriot missile systems - ed.) took the German authorities about a month and a half. They said that Patriot missile systems were going only to Poland, but after pressure, they agreed to send them to Ukraine," he reminded.
Morawiecki stressed that Poland has already decided to transfer combat tanks to Ukraine.
