Intelligence believes that Russia prepares terrorist attack on its gas transportation system to blame Ukraine - media
According to intelligence, amid the war crime committed by Russia at the Kakhovka HPP, the aggressor state is preparing to commit another terrorist act - this time on its territory with further accusations against Ukraine
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate.
According to intelligence, the Russians chose the gas transportation system as the target of the terrorist attack.
Ukraine's Ministry of Fuel and Energy has learned of a significant decrease in pressure at the compressor stations of the main gas pipelines used by Russia to transport natural gas to Europe through the Ukrainian gas transportation system under the transit contract signed in December 2019.
Since June 7, 2023, the outlet pressure at the Kursk compressor station of the Yelets-Kursk-Kryvyi Rih main gas pipeline has dropped more than three times: from 63.3 to 19.4 kgf/cm².
Almost identical pressure drops were recorded at the inlet and outlet of the Kursk compressor station of the Progress gas pipeline.
At the same time, at the point where the aggressor's main gas pipelines connect to Ukraine's GTS, the Sudzha gas metering station, the pressure did not change.
According to the intelligence community, such dangerous Russian 'fun' with pressure may indicate preparations for a terrorist attack on gas pipelines or other critical gas infrastructure in Russia to use the consequences in a propaganda campaign to accuse Ukraine.
“Obviously, the relevant intention of the terrorist state is aimed at sowing distrust between Ukraine and our Western partners and diverting attention from the criminal undermining of the Kakhovka HPP by Russia,” the intelligence said.
