DTEK says that due to Russian shelling, power outages may last for several days
Long-term power outages that may last several days are possible after another Russian missile attack on energy facilities in Ukraine
Dmytro Sakharuk, executive director of DTEK, stated it live on air of ICTV channel on Thursday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"We will, unfortunately, not talk about planned power outages at the moment, but about planned power-ups in some regions, and there are many of them. Unfortunately, hours during which there will be electricity may be very few. It is two or three hours per day", he said.
Saharuk explained that Russian occupying forces ransacked substations that transmit electricity from one district to another and through which many areas in the center and west are energized. In addition, on November 15, one of TPPs of DTEK group stopped working due to missile hit.
According to him, specialists carry out repairs where they can.
"Partial restoration work has already begun, part of it was a technical switchover, currently disassembly of debris, destroyed equipment is underway, in some cases the territory needs to be demined. So, the work is ongoing, but not yet in large-scale format, when it would be possible to already install and mount equipment", top manager of DTEK described situation.
According to his calculations, as a result of Russian missile strikes, about 40% of Ukrainian consumers have problems with energy supply.
"I don't have any forecasts for when this number will decrease", Sakharuk said.
