Britain plans to provide Ukraine with long-range weapons and train Ukrainian pilots
Britain is likely to announce an expanded training program for Ukrainian troops, as well as the supply of long-range weapons to Kyiv
This is reported by The Guardian with reference to the Downing Street statement today, during the unannounced visit of President Zelenskyy to Britain.
According to Downing Street, under the training programme already running in the UK 10,000 Ukrainian troops have been brought to battle readiness in the last six months, and it will upskill a further 20,000 Ukrainian soldiers this year.
Sunak will expand the training offered by the UK to include fighter jet pilots and marines, "ensuring Ukraine has a military able to defend its interests well into the future."
The UK will continue to work together with the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the international community to scale the program up in 2023.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is expected to announce the supply of long-range weapons to Ukraine.

The Financial Times previously reported that the EU prepares to host Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Brussels summit on February 9. This might be the second Zelenskyy’s foreign visit after visiting the US, which was not publicly announced.
