Blinken: US has action plan if Russia uses nuclear weapons

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said this in an interview with CBSNews.

"We have spoken very clearly with the Russians publicly and privately so that they stop talking about nuclear weapons," he noted.

It was sked if the White House had been in contact with the Kremlin about the threat of nuclear war, Blinken said: "Yes. It's very important that Moscow hears from us and knows from us that the consequences will be dire. And we've made that very clear."

He believes that "Putin has a clear way out of the war he started, which is to put an end to it. If Russia stops fighting, the war will end, if Ukraine stops, Ukraine will end."

However, the Secretary of State refused to provide details on how Washington would respond to the use of nuclear weapons.  However, he emphasized that the US administration has a clear plan.
