Air defense is activated in Prykarpattia, residents are urged not to approach wreckage of missiles
The air defense system was activated in Ukraine’s western Ivano-Frankivsk region as authorities ask locals not to touch or move missile debris
This was reported by the head of Ivano-Frankivsk Military Administration Svitlana Onyshchuk, Espreso reports.
"Dear residents, the air defense system has worked in our region! I want to warn you, even fragments of downed missiles that have fallen to the ground pose a danger to life! After all, the warhead of a projectile contains a powerful explosive charge, and the rocket fuel for the engine consists of toxic chemicals. Intercepted by air defense forces, missiles do not always explode in the air. Parts that have fallen to the ground can detonate at any moment! At the same time, only explosives specialists are able to assess the possible risks," Onyshchuk wrote.
She talked about the action algorithm, what to do if you notice the debris of a downed missile:
- do not come close, do not touch or move;
- call the police and rescuers;
- contact local authorities for help;
- stay out at a distance of 100-150 meters;
- do not allow others to approach the wreckage.
This will save health and life.
