Zelensky to NATO: "You can provide us with 1% of all your aircraft and tanks, and this will give you 100% security"

He said this during his video conference speech at the emergency NATO summit, which began on March 24, Espreso.TV writes.

"During the month of the war, Russia launched thousands of different missiles against our cities, carried out hundreds of air raids. On February 24, I turned to you with an absolutely logical request - to help close our sky in any format. To protect our people from Russian bombs and missiles. We did not get a clear answer. Ukraine does not have powerful anti-missile weapons. We have less aviation than Russia. Therefore, their advantage in the sky is the use of weapons of mass destruction. You see the consequences, how many people were killed and peaceful cities were destroyed", Zelensky said.

The President of Ukraine recalled that our army has been resisting for a month now in unequal conditions, and for a month now he has been repeating the same thing: "In order to save people and Ukrainian cities, Ukraine needs military assistance without restrictions".

"How without restrictions Russia uses its entire arsenal for us. It destroys all living things, any objects: from residential buildings to churches, warehouses with food to universities and hospitals. Ukraine turned to you for planes so that we don’t lose so many people and you have thousands of combat aircraft, but we have not been given a single one yet. We have applied for tanks so that we can release our cities, which are now dying: Mariupol, Berdyansk, Melitopol and other cities in which Russia holds hundreds of thousands of people hostage and artificially creates hunger, because there is no water, no food, nothing. You have at least 20 thousand tanks, Ukraine asked for 1% of all your tanks. Give it to us, or sell it to us, but we don’t have a clear answer yet. The scariest thing about war is not having clear answers to requests for help", Zelensky emphasized.

The President also emphasized that Ukraine never wanted this war and does not want to fight for years.

"We just want to save our people and survive. Like any nation, we have the right to life, the right to this one percent. I don’t blame NATO now, I want you to understand, you are not guilty, these are not your missiles, these are not yours bombs are destroying our cities.… I want you to know that the Alliance still can prevent the deaths of Ukrainians from Russian strikes, Russian invasion, by providing us with all the weapons that we need. I'm sure you already understand that Russia does not think to stop and wants to  go further, towards the eastern members of NATO", Zelensky said.

The President thanked for the military assistance provided by individual NATO members.

But I ask you to reconsider at least 1% of your attitude, your own assessments and take care of security in Europe and the world. You can give us 1% of all your aircraft, 1% of all your tanks. We can't just buy it. Such supplies depend only on the political decisions of NATO: multiple launch missile systems, anti-ship weapons, air defenses, how can one survive in such a war without this? When we finally have it, it will give us and you 100% security", Zelensky concluded.
