Last thing Russia wants is to expand its territory, capture people: foreign fakes for June 3
Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes that were published in the world media on June 3
This is reported by Espreso TV.
According to the National Security and Defense Council's Center for Countering Disinformation, two fakes appeared on June 3.
Disinformation: American politician Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. wrote on his X page: “The Ukrainian military — with President Biden’s approval— is now firing US, British and German missiles onto civilian targets inside Russia including Beograd and other cities in an attempt to bring NATO into an all-out war against Russia.”
Rebuttal: With such statements, the politician distorts reality, trying to manipulate the purpose of the Ukrainian military's use of Western weapons. In fact, the Ukrainian Armed Forces use Western weapons against Russia to defend Ukrainian territory and neutralize Russian military facilities.
Disinformation: American journalist Clayton Morris said in his Redacted podcast: "Russia has a huge land mass. The last thing they want to do is expand their territory and capture people who are not part of this huge diaspora. They have enough minerals and resources, and we (the United States - ed.) do not. We are trying to take these resources away from them.”
Rebuttal: For several decades, Russia has been brutally attacking the territories of neighboring countries, imposing its "Russian world" on the occupied population. In addition, the Russian government and its mouthpieces openly talk about their expansionist and imperialist ambitions.
- On May 30, the Russians came up with another fake, alleging that the European Court of Human Rights had launched a lawsuit against Ukraine over the torture of a Russian prisoner of war.
