Eight Russian attack drones fly into Belarus from Ukraine - monitoring exerts
On the night of September 7, at least 8 drones flew into the territory of Belarus. Among them are 7 Shahed-type 'kamikaze' drones and, probably for the first time, a Russian reconnaissance UAV Supercam
Belarusian Hajun monitoring project reports.
According to the project's experts, the first Shahed drone flew into the territory of Belarus from the Chernihiv region of Ukraine in the direction of Loyev at around 23:00. The second one flew into the territory of Belarus from the Chernihiv region of Ukraine in the direction of Loyev at around 23:20 and flew back to Ukraine in the direction of the Kyiv reservoir 40 minutes later.
In addition, the Shahed drones that crossed the border with Belarus were recorded at approximately 02:45, 03:10, 03:37, 03:49, 05:16, and 05:54. And at around 08:13, according to eRadar, a Supercam reconnaissance UAV flew into Belarus.
In addition to the Gomel region, last night one of the drones was spotted in the Brest region, at around 05:16, near Pinsk, and continued to move north.
‘This Shahed drone entered Grodno region (for the first time in the entire monitoring period) and flew as far as Korelichi and Novogrudok, heading towards the border with Lithuania. This Shahed could have flown over Belarus to the north for about 200 km, and it is unknown what happened to it afterward,’ Belarusian Hajun writes.
Throughout the night, fighter jets and helicopters of the Belarusian Air Force were flying in the sky over Belarus.
In total, according to Belarusian Hajun, Belarusian Air Force fighters took off from the Baranovichy airfield 4 times, and helicopters took off from Machulishchy twice.
‘Aviation was spotted not only in the south of the country, but also in the very north - in the area of Ostrovets and Vileika, which may indicate that not one, but two Shahed drones could have reached the north of the country,’ the publication concluded.
- On the night of 5 September, the Russian Shahed drones, which Russia launched on the territory of Ukraine, flew into the airspace of Belarus. The country used a fighter jet to shoot down the drone, and is searching for unexploded missiles in the Gomel region.
