Ukrainian air defense forces destroy 58 Russian Shahed drones overnight: some flew to Russia, Belarus, and Luhansk region
On the night of Saturday, September 7, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 58 of 67 Russian attack drones. A number of UAVs left the controlled airspace of Ukraine
This is reported by the press center of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Last night the Russian army launched Shahed-type attack UAVs from the Russian cities of Kursk, Yeysk and Cape Chauda in the occupied Crimea.
In total, the Air Force's radio engineering troops detected and tracked 67 Shaheds. As a result of the air battle, 58 attack UAVs were shot down.
The Armed Forces added that 6 Russian drones left the controlled airspace of Ukraine, flying in the direction of Russia, Belarus and the temporarily occupied Luhansk region. Another three enemy UAVs were lost on the territory of Ukraine, presumably falling under the influence of electronic warfare.
Overall, last night air defense was operating in Vinnytsia, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kherson and Poltava regions.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile firing groups, and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling Russia's air attack.
