On the morning of January 9, the Russian occupying army struck Kherson with aviation. The attack caused destruction and casualties, according to the head of Kherson's Military Administration, Roman Mrochko, and the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
"At 11:00 a.m., Russian terrorists launched an airstrike on Kherson, firing three guided bombs. One bomb hit a private house, destroying it," Mrochko said.
Rescuers pulled a man and a woman from the rubble, who were taken to the hospital. The 85-year-old woman sustained a concussion, an explosive injury, and a closed traumatic brain injury. Another victim suffered an acute stress reaction.
"As a result of the airstrike, fires broke out. There were hits on a business and a kindergarten. Information is being clarified," added the head of the Military Administration.
Later, the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported two more casualties from the airstrike.
"An ambulance team transported a 52-year-old man to the hospital with an explosive injury and facial bruises. Another victim, a 62-year-old man, received medical assistance on the spot. He was diagnosed with an explosive injury and a shrapnel wound to the hand," the report stated.
As of 12:30 a.m., the number of injured increased to six, according to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin. Among the injured are two women and four men, all of whom sustained explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds.
One victim received assistance on the spot, while the others are hospitalized. Medical professionals are conducting examinations and providing the necessary care.
