Over 35,000 people remain in Pokrovsk community as Russian army nears
As of September 6, over 24 thousand Ukrainians remain in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, including 929 children. At the same time, a total of 35 thousand people live in the community

Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said this during a telethon.
‘Now 35 thousand people live in the community, 24.5 thousand in Pokrovsk itself. There are 1,600 children in the community and 929 in Pokrovsk,’ he said.
Filashkin noted that more than 20,000 residents, including more than 2,000 children, have left Pokrovsk in the past month.
According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, people are evacuating to Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zakarpattia, Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
- As of September 2, there were about 30,000 residents in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. Two thousand people are evacuated every day.
- On September 5, media reported that, for security reasons, the boarding points for evacuation trains running from Donetsk region would now vary. In particular, on 5 September, the train departed from Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
