Russia attacks Pavlohrad in Dnipropetrovsk region, killing one, injuring 82 people
On September 6, the Russian army launched missiles on Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region, killing one person, and injuring 61 others, including children
Serhii Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, provided an update.
As of 1:12 p.m. on September 7, 82 injured people were reported, including seven children.
“60 persons remain in hospital. A 69-year-old man is in serious condition. He has a head injury and a shrapnel wound. All others are in moderate or light condition,” added Lysak.
On September 6, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, reported about more than 60 injured civilians.
“There are 61 people injured in Pavlohrad. Most are in moderate condition and are receiving care in hospitals,” he wrote.
At 14:55, the official had reported 58 injured.
According to Lysak, the injured suffer from lacerations, cuts, fractures, bruises, and head injuries. Three men, aged 30, 68, and 69, are in serious condition. Among the wounded are five children. The shelling caused significant damage, affecting several enterprises, over 30 high-rise buildings, a kindergarten, and 27 shops. One car was destroyed, and two others were damaged.
The city has set up "Points of Resilience" and organized water supply. Efforts to address the damage and assist the injured are ongoing.
Odarka Bila, a deputy of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, on Espreso TV mentioned that rescue operations are still in progress, and the number of injured may rise.
“My colleagues on the ground report that this is one of the most devastating attacks we've seen. Over 2,000 apartments have been damaged, which equates to about 30 buildings,” the MP said.
Earlier, the State Emergency Service updated the number of injured from the Russian attack on Pavlohrad to 55 people, with one confirmed dead. Emergency and rescue operations are ongoing on the site of the attack.
At 12:53, Lysak reported that 50 people had been injured in the strike.
“There are already 50 injured. The oldest is 86 years old. The youngest is 4. Everyone is being provided with the necessary assistance,” Lysak wrote.
As of 12:46 p.m., Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported that the number of casualties in Pavlohrad had increased to 40.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian troops launched a missile attack on civilian infrastructure in Pavlohrad on September 6 at around 10:00 a.m. Preliminary information suggests Russian troops launched five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Russia’s Voronezh and Rostov regions.
The attack was first reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak.
“The enemy attacked Pavlohrad,” he wrote. “There are already 5 casualties, and there was some destruction."
“The threat remains, so keep information silence. Stay in shelters until the all clear signal,” Lysak said.
Later he added that one person was killed and the number of injured is growing.
“Unfortunately, there is already a dead person in Pavlohrad. There are 18 injured in the hospital, including a 9-year-old girl. There were several fires in the city. An apartment was on fire in one of the multi-story buildings. The fire was extinguished and five people were rescued,” he wrote.
“Unfortunately, there is already a person killed in Pavlohrad. There are 30 injured, three of them are children. In addition to the 9-year-old girl, boys aged 11 and 4 were injured in the missile attack on the city. Two of the people in the hospital are seriously injured. Doctors are doing everything to save them... There were several fires in the city. An apartment was on fire in one of the multi-storey buildings. The fire was extinguished and five people were rescued,” wrote the head of the regional administration.

On the morning of Friday, September 6, the Russian army shelled Liubotyn in Kharkiv region, injuring three women, including a 16-year-old girl. Residential buildings were also damaged.
